*Products shown were provided as press samples in exchange for photos and feedback. All thoughts and opinions are my own.*

I believe I shared the same thoughts as many others this month in not knowing exactly what to expect out of an "Ancient History" themed Polish Pickup. Well, it seems that the makers have defied all expectations, and have put together one of the most impressive collections of offerings we've seen thus far! All of these beautiful products and many more will be available Friday, March 6th through Monday, March 9th, only at!

Dollish Polish "The Mayan Sleeps Tonight"

Price: $12.50 | No Cap

Inspiration: The ancient Mayan chief known as Halach Uinic.

Description: A stunning emerald green/rose copper duochrome. Shown here in 3 thin coats, plus gloss and matte top coats.

Thoughts: I found the shift to be on the subtle side, but the true emerald tone of the shimmer is beautiful. This polish is heavily shimmer packed, so some visual brush strokes should be expected. I highly recommend trying this one out with a matte top coat. It's truly stunning!

Fair Maiden Polish "Lady Godiva"

Price: $11.00 | No Cap

Inspiration: Lady Godiva, herself. Today, she is mainly remembered for a legend dating back to the 13th century, in which she rode naked—covered only in her long hair—through the streets of Coventry to gain a remission of the oppressive taxation that her husband, Leofric, imposed on his tenants.

Description: A neutral, yet shifty, nude with layers of complexity that will keep you staring at your nails all day long. Shimmers and flake pull red to green depending on lighting. Gold flake and scattered holo add depth. Shown here in 3 thin coats, plus gloss and matte top coats.

Thoughts: They aren't kidding when they say this polish is complex! First off, this polish applies like a dream! The paddle brush used here is perfect for applying thin, even coats. I believe the actual base color is a soft, sheer pink. But because of the sheer nature of it, I found it to blend in with my skin tone seamlessly, making for a natural nude look filled with sparkly goodness.

Glisten & Glow "This is Sparta!"

Price: $12.50 | No Cap

Inspiration: That iconic line from the movie '300' spoken by Leonidas, King of Sparta played by Gerard Butler.

Description: A multichrome polish that shifts from deep plum/red/bronze/golden yellow/green with added color shifting iridescent flakes that shift from pink/orange/gold/green. Shown here in 2 coats, plus gloss and matte top coats.

Thoughts: This polish applied very nicely with a beautiful distribution of flakes. The super shifty nature of it will have you staring at your nails all day. When matte, this polish takes on a whole new, somewhat sophisticated look.

Gloss Top Coat

Price: $7.50 | No Cap

Inspiration: This top coat will protect your mani just like the bronze armor of the Spartans back from the 4th century BC!

Description: Glisten & Glow Top Coat dries in 2-4 minutes or less leaving a durable, long lasting, glossy "wet/gel like" finish with days or weeks of no tip wear, or chipping. Apply Glisten & Glow top coat in a thin layer floating it over the top of the polish below. Go back in with a 2nd coat to smooth and seal glitter or textured polishes. Glisten & Glow top coat has an even consistency throughout the whole bottle. Shown here over "This Is Sparta!" which will also be available from Glisten & Glow this month.

Thoughts: This top coat is quite nice, drying very quickly and lasting for days on end. I can also attest that it does indeed keep the same consistency throughout the bottle, and does not become thick or goopy like other top coats may.

Heather's Hues "The Lycurgus Cup"

Price: $12.50 | 120 US Cap | 15 UK Cap

Inspiration: The Lycurgus Cup, a 4th century Roman glass cage cup. This color-changing cup is made of a dichroic glass, which shows a different color depending on the direction of light shown onto it.

Description: A gold-green-red multichrome magnetic polish that's sprinkled with iridescent flakes and glitters that shift from red to gold to green. Shown here magnetized and unmagnetized, both in 2 coats plus gloss and matte top coats.

Thoughts: Application is very smooth and easy. This polish has so much depth. When magnetized, all those beautiful flakes and glitters just pop out over the dark, almost chocolate brown base tone. When left unmagnetized, it has a beautiful gilded, antiqued look.

Price: $12.00 | 150 US Cap | 10 UK Cap

Inspiration: The dinosaurs of the ancient Mesozoic era, specifically the great and most feared... Thesaurus!

Thoughts: Flakie lovers, this ones for you! It is packed to the brim with beautiful, shifting flakes. I found this to apply beautifully and smooth. My hands are ice cubes most of the time, but I found this transitioned very naturally with the cornflower blue mid tone easily showing itself.
