Cuticula Nail Lacquer

"Playing Games"

Price: $12.50 | No Cap

Inspiration: The teal Game Boy Color.

Description: "Playing Games" is a turquoise jelly base with blue-green ultra chrome shifting flakes with black shreds and hexes in two various sizes. Shown in 3 coats, plus Cuticula's Limitless and Cloud Cover top coats.

Thoughts: This formula is great! Application was easy and controlled. I am such a fan of teal tones! I love the use of the tiny chrome flakes along with the UCC flakes, and the black shreds with the hex glitters. Everything just works so well together.

Mic Drop 3-in-1 Base Coat scented in 'Raspberry Sugar'

Price: $8.50 | No Cap

Description: The 'Raspberry Sugar' scent has juicy, candy, fruity top notes with long lasting sugary sweet bottom notes. It's a scrumptious, sweet-as-candy blend of sugared raspberries, with hints of plum and tiny little hint of floral. This base coat is ridge filling, has sticky adhesion, all while strengthening the nails. Wear in two coats alone or one coat under your favorite nail polish. Some benefits of Mic Drop include: having a 3-in-1 formula containing ridge filler, sticky, and strengthening base coats; being quick drying; and having a 5 free formula. Click here for a full list of benefits and ingredients of Mic Drop 3-in-1 Base Coat.

Thoughts: This matches the scent of Cuticula's Limitless Top Coat offered last month. The scent itself is wonderful, being both sweet and slightly tart, smelling of fruity raspberries and sweet spun sugar. The scent level is perfect as well being somewhat strong. But I find this wonderful, especially for a base coat that will be beneath other layers of polish. In 2 coats, Mic Drop settles nicely into any ridges of the nail and also helps to somewhat blur any discoloration of the nail. I don't have too many ridges, but I do have one that runs down the center of my ring finger from an injury a couple years ago. You can see that the base settles around this ridge, smoothing out the surface perfectly.

Fair Maiden Polish

"Luke Perrywinkle"

Price: $11.00 | No Cap

Inspiration: This polished was designed with a heavy heart for '90s actor Luke Perry. He was a heartthrob that stood the test of time until his unexpected passing 2 years ago.

Description: "Luke Perrywinkle" is a pastel multichrome with a periwinkle base and ultra "glowy" shimmer that shifts from violet purple to violet blue, finished with scattered holo flake. Shown in 3 thin coats, plus gloss and matte top coats.

Thoughts: This is a gorgeous polish with strong, ethereal unicorn vibes. It’s packed with glowy, pastel shimmer. Application was very easy in thin, smooth coats. These coats do sit on the sheer side, but build to nice opacity. There are a few brush strokes, but they seem to become less noticeable as the polish dries.

Glisten & Glow

"Ode to Overalls"

Price: $12.50 | No Cap

Inspiration: Denim was all the rage in the '90s, but nothing made more of an impact on the youth than the one strap off the shoulder denim overall look.

Description: "Ode to Overalls" is a medium denim blue with red/gold/green color shifting shimmers. Shown in 3 thin coats, plus Glisten & Glow's gloss and matte top coats. Some may be able to reach opacity in only 2 coats.

Thoughts: This polish is filled with colorful, glowing shimmers! It is a perfect, fresh denim blue. Application was smooth and easy, with coats being somewhat sheer when applied thinly. It looks great when matte as well.

Glisten & Glow

Top Coat

Price: $7.50 | No Cap

Description: Glisten & Glow Top Coat comes in a 15 ml bottle.

》Glisten & Glow Top Coat is an award winning fast dry glossy top coat. Some benefits include: 2-4 minutes or less drying time; durable and long lasting with days or weeks of no tip wear, or chipping; crystal clear, shiny, glossy "wet/gel like" finish; seals and evens glitters and flakie polishes; non smearing for stamping manis; glows under black light. Click here for a full list of benefits and ingredients in Glisten & Glow Top Coat. Shown over “Ode to Overalls” as well as over a smoosh design using Glisten & Glow's It’s Spring, Do Your Thing cremes [PR] for a tie-dye and denim feel.

Thoughts: Glisten & Glow's top coat is super shiny, quick drying, and my go-to for stamping. This bottle arrived to me with a paddle style brush for the first time, and I have to be honest, I'm not a fan of the paddle style brush in this top coat. I've tried switching out the normal brush with a paddle style brush before, and I found a few things to happen: Cuticle floods with top coat happen more often; the paddle brush creates excess bubbles when dipped back into bottle; and “floating” over stamping is more difficult, with the wider or fluffier hairs of the brush causing some streaking of images.

Heather's Hues

"The Midnight Society"

Price: $12.50 | No Cap

Inspiration: Nickelodeon's spooky anthology show Are You Afraid of the Dark.

Description: "The Midnight Society" is a black to purple thermal filled with fiery red-pink-orange-gold shimmer and flakes as well as a touch of holo microflakes and microshreds. Shown in 2 coats, plus gloss and matte top coats.

Thoughts: This one brings me back, y'all! I absolutely loved this show when I was little. Application was very easy, controlled with nice opacity as well. In fact, it's nearly a single coater. I found the transition point to be nice and low, so it transitions easily and naturally. It is absolutely packed with flakes and shimmer, so it looks wonderful when matte as well.

WiTS Lotion scented in 'Country Apple'

Price: $7.25 | 50 Cap

Inspiration: Maker Heather's '90s obsession with Bath & Body Works, specifically the 'Country Apple' scent.

Description: "What is This Sorcery?" or "WiTS" Lotion is packed full of skin-loving, nourishing natural ingredients that absorb quickly and leave your skin ultra moisturized. The 'Country Apple' scent has notes of sweet apple, Anjou pear and hints of ripe nectarine paired with honey butter, vanilla sugar, coconut milk, and soft musk.

Thoughts: As I've said before, WiTS has been my go-to lotion for years now! I always have a jar somewhere within reach. It absorbs quickly with a non-greasy formula, and provides intense hydration. A little goes a long way. I would highly recommend it. As for the scent, I love it! It smells just like fresh cut apples. It’s a very pure scent. I like that there isn't any sort of spice notes, like cinnamon, making this a more springy apple scent rather than a fall one. A great dupe of the classic B&BW Country Apple.

LynBDesigns

"A Little Absinthe Minded"

Price: $12.00 | No Cap

Inspiration: Art nouveau absinthe ads from the 1890s.

Description: "A Little Absinthe Minded" is a juicy jade green to pale spring green thermal filled with red to gold and pink to orange to gold shifting flakies and pink to gold aurora shimmer. Shown in 3 thin coats, plus gloss and matte top coats.

Thoughts: What a great and creative choice of inspiration! This is a perfect shade for spring. Love the sweet, minty green cold state and pale, pastel, near-yellow warm state. I realize the description calls it a "pale spring green", but I believe it really pushes more into yellow than green. Application was very easy and controlled. Individual coats are sheer, and the end result with 3 coats is also sheer overall. The flakes add a good bit of depth with beautiful sparks of pink and gold. This looks great when matte as well.

Moo Moo's Signatures

"90's Solo Racing"

Price: $13.50 | 100 Cap

Inspiration: The childhood game of Excitebike.

Description: "90's Solo Racing" is a dusty orange with green to pink aurora shimmer, blue to purple ucc, bronze to gold ucc, red, white and black hexes. Shown in 2 coats, plus gloss and matte top coats.

Thoughts: This formula is perfection! It’s smooth, easy to control, self-leveling, and has ideal 2 coater opacity. If looked at separately, the individual elements of this polish (red glitter, blue flake, green/pink shimmer, orange base) don’t seem like they would cohesively work together, but in reality, they absolutely do. Love it matte as well.

Night Owl Lacquer

"Just a Girl"

Price: $12.00 | No Cap

Inspiration: The song "Just a Girl" by No Doubt.

Description: "Just a Girl" is a white crelly with black shreds, silver holographic micro flakies, and a mix of grey/purple/bright yellow/hot pink glitters. Shown in 2 coats, plus gloss and matte top coats.

Thoughts: This color combo definitely says ‘90s! All the silver holo flakes in the white crelly base really help to give the polish an overall gray tone rather than a true white one. Application was very smooth and easy. The density of the add-ins make glitter fishing not necessary. I find with polishes like this one (with larger, stiff type flakes), lighter brush strokes really help to distribute things evenly.

PI Colors

"Judge None Choose One.000"

Price: $12.00 | 150 Cap

Inspiration: Dark blue JNCO jeans.

Description: "Judge None Choose One.000" is a deep dark blue base with just a hint of green, with a smooth and sleek multichrome finish and just a dash of shimmer. The color shifts from cyan to blue to violet and green depending on the angle. Shown in 3 thin coats, plus gloss and matte top coats. Some may be able to reach opacity in only 2 coats.

Thoughts: This polish has some gorgeous shifts to it! Application was smooth and easy, and opacity was very nice as well. Brush strokes really weren’t an issue at all. This is beautiful glossy, but also stunning when matte.
