This Friday, Night Owl is releasing a gorgeous collection of six polishes along with February's new Creme of the Month! The Winter 2021 collection was inspired by the movie Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga. This movie was a bright spot in 2020 for Night Owl maker Lindsay, stating it just makes her feel happy every time she watches it! I'm not the biggest movie watcher, so I have not seen it. But between the names of these polishes and one of the lead actors being Will Ferrell, I'm definitely intrigued and will HAVE to see this one!

All these polishes are set to release Friday, January 15th, at 6:00pm Mountain Time (8:00pm Eastern Time).

February's Creme of the Month

"Bruised Not Broken"

Price: $8

Description: This is a dark bluish purple creme. Four finger swatches show a single coat, left with no top coat to show natural gloss finish and matte top coat. Also shown is some stamping and reverse stamping using the polish along with a variety of other polishes, including last month’s COTM "Surprise Me." The pinky and index fingers are "Surprise Me" stamped over a base of "Bruised Not Broken."

Thoughts: Night Owl is my go-to for creme polishes! They always apply wonderfully and most are opaque in just a single coat. I did notice the pigments separate rather quickly in the bottle, with the blue pigment sinking to the bottom and the lighter purple pigment settling at the top. I found that letting the bottle sit upside down for a while before use proves to mix it better than shaking. But even with the bottle not looking mixed, I found the color to apply evenly and uniformly.

Winter 2021 Collection

"I'm Checkin' You Out"

Price: $12 individually | $63 for full collection

Description: This is a brown based multichrome that shifts pink/burgundy/copper. Shown here in 3 thin coats, plus gloss and matte top coats.

Thoughts: This is a super shifty multichrome! It has a very sophisticated feel to it. The formula is perfect, so application was smooth and easy in thin coats. I believe most could probably get away with only 2 coats. Clean up/touch ups were easy as well, as the shimmer in the base doesn't really stick to the skin. I thought this one looked just as beautiful matte as it does glossy.

"Play Jaja Ding Dong!"

Price: $12 individually | $63 for full collection

Description: This is a vibrant teal green linear holographic. Shown here in 2 coats, plus gloss and matte top coats.

Thoughts: This one is stunning! It has perfectly controlled, smooth application. It also has great opacity and a very strong holo flash. Teal toned polishes are a personal favorite of mine, and I believe the dense linear holo will always be a classic finish, perfect for any time of year.

"Song-a-Long"

Price: $12 individually | $63 for full collection

Description: This is a fuschia jelly filled with silver holographic micro glitter and pink/yellow/green color shifting crystal chameleon flakes. Shown here in 2 coats, plus gloss and matte top coats.

Thoughts: This is a fun one! The finish is super sparkly from all the holo glitters. I thought the formula was slightly on the thicker side, but it does perfectly suspend the flakes and glitters and application was easy and smooth. This one is also fun with a matte top coat.

"Volcano Man"

Price: $11 individually | $63 for full collection

Description: This is a light grey with red/gold shimmer, charcoal flakes and holographic micro flakies. Shown here in 3 thin coats, plus gloss and matte top coats.

Thoughts: This is definitely one of my favorites from this collection. The mix of charcoal flakes, holo flakes, and glowing red shimmer is just so beautiful! A perfect winter polish. The formula is perfect, so application was very easy and controlled. Most could probably get away with 2 coats. I really liked this one matte as well.

"Where the Mountains Sing"

Price: $10 individually | $63 for full collection

Description:This is an ethereal duochrome that shifts from mint green to lavender. Shown here in 2 coats, plus gloss and matte top coats.

Thoughts: This is such an elegant and classy silver polish. I'm a big fan of it's formula. It sits thinner, but is densely packed with shifty shimmer. There are a few brush strokes, but they are easily straightened out so I didn't find them to be a problem. It's hard to capture the full on minty green shift at the forefront, but I did my best to try and show it.

"You're a Dreamer, My Dreamer"

Price: $12 individually | $63 for full collection

Description: This is an aqua/blue/purple multichrome with bright silver flakes. Shown here in 3 thin coats, plus gloss and matte top coats.

Thoughts: This is such a nice dark beauty. The silver metallic flakes give it a wonderful winter night sky look. The formula is nice, so application was easy. I will say that the shift of the shimmers to purple is more apparent in person vs on camera. I even found them to shift all the way to gold at extreme angles. I opted for 3 coats, but I think some may be able to reach opacity in 2 coats.

Again, all these beauties are set to release Friday, January 15th, at 6:00pm Mountain Time (8:00pm Eastern Time), at nightowllacquer.com!
