Heather's Hues Monthly Duo September 2020

Ah, September... My favorite month of the year! Not only am I a true Virgo baby, but here in Georgia, September typically marks the end of our annual summer heat wave, with evidence of the changing seasons being seen and felt all over the place. For September's Monthly Duo, Heather tasked the Hue-t-pies to submit photos fitting the theme "It's 'Fall' Good!" The polishes created have perfectly captured the inspirations, including a fanned out spectrum of turning fall leaves and warm tea served in blue ceramic cups with cranberry madeleines.

In case you're new to the Monthly Duo, each month Heather tasks the members of her Facebook fan group, the Hue-t-pies, to submit photos fitting a theme of her choice. The photos are whittled down to 10, then the group votes for their favorite 2 photos to inspire Heather to create something new and special for that month. Join in on the fun for next month, and peep at the inspiration photos for these by joining us in the Facebook group here: www.facebook.com/groups/HeathersHueTpies

[Note: In order to avoid any sort of copyright issues with the inspiration photos, I will not be posting them here.]

"'Leaf' It on the Table"

Price: $12.50

Description: "'Leaf' It on the Table" is a deep blue-green jelly packed with a mix of iridescent flakes and glitters in reds, oranges, golds, and greens, as well as a touch of holo, red holo glitters, and orange holo microshreds. Shown here in 3 thin coats, plus gloss and matte top coats.

Thoughts: This is stunning! In the bottle, it gives me serious "Be Stil-etto My Heart" vibes from May 2020's duo, but this one is even more packed with beautiful flakes and glitters! The transparent jelly base perfectly displays the beautiful, sparkly add-ins. The formula has a flakie bomb consistency, but it applies easily and dries with surprisingly little texture. I believe shorter nails could get away with 2 coats, but 3 coats just adds even more depth.

"*Sips Tea*"

Price: $12.50

Description: "*Sips Tea*" is a crelly (it looks like tea with cream!) that has a strong iridescent teal to fuchsia shimmer, garnet and brown holo microglitters, sky blue holo microglitters and micro shreds, and a touch of multichrome flakes in pink-gold-teal-violet. Shown here in 3 thin coats, plus gloss and matte top coats.

[***Disclaimer from Heather: My swatchers noticed that this polish does dry a tad bit darker than it shows in the bottle... almost like it's steeping!! It seems that certain topcoats are making it dry darker and that if you let it dry completely before topcoating, it's not as noticeable. How fitting is it that a polish named *Sips Tea* would cause drama.***]

Thoughts: This name though!! This polish is such a unique shade, and is packed with super shifty shimmers! Just like its companion above, I believe shorter nails could get away with only 2 coats. As for the disclaimer, I highly recommend letting this polish dry as long as possible before adding a top coat. While it does dry a touch darker than it appears in the bottle on its own, certain top coats (when applied before polish was fully dry) made the finish appear darker and even slightly purple. I tested a handful of top coats with it and found the most drastic change in color when using Sally Hansen's Big Kwik Dry top coat before the polish was fully dry. Don't let this scare you away from this polish if it's one that you like though! It's definitely a beautiful polish, it just has an added touch of sass true to its name.

These beauties will be available throughout the month of September only at HeathersHues.com!
