Spooky season has finally arrived! I don't know about y'all, but focusing on indulging myself in all things fall and getting ready for Halloween has served as a nice escape from the craziness happening in the world. For October's Monthly Duo, Heather tasked the Hue-t-pies to submit photos fitting the theme "Fear." The polishes created have perfectly captured the inspirations, including the eye-catching iridescent web of a garden spider and a drawing of a beautiful woman in full Day of the Dead sugar skull make up.
In case you're new to the Monthly Duo, each month Heather tasks the members of her Facebook fan group, the Hue-t-pies, to submit photos fitting a theme of her choice. The photos are whittled down to 10, then the group votes for their favorite 2 photos to inspire Heather to create something new and special for that month. Join in on the fun for next month, and peep at the inspiration photos for these by joining us in the Facebook group here: www.facebook.com/groups/HeathersHueTpies

Description: "Arachnophobia" (the fear of spiders) is a thermal polish that's black when cold to dark teal when warm. It's packed with a mix of multichrome and iridescent flakes in pink, teal, violet, orange and gold and teal holo glitters. Shown here in 3 thin coats, plus gloss and matte top coats. Shorter nails would probably only need 2 coats.
Thoughts: This perfectly captures the inspiration photo! I'm absolutely loving the shifty pink/gold flakes against the black and teal base. It transitions very nice and naturally, even on icicle hands. It applies easily and dries quickly, but I found it to be a bit on the thicker side. I would personally add just a few drops of thinner to help slow the drying time. That way, you have plenty of time to lay down thin, even coats without overworking the polish.
Description: "Venustraphobia" (the fear of beautiful women) is a tri-thermal that is black-brown when cold, then orange and yellow when warm. It is packed with a strong red-copper-gold-green shimmer and a mix of flakes and glitters in shades of red, orange, gold, green, and turquoise. Shown here in 3 thin coats, plus gloss and matte top coats. Shorter nails would probably only need 2 coats.
Thoughts: Well, I learned something from this one... Who would have thought the fear of beautiful women would be called venustraphobia!? I think its a perfect name for it! In the end, not only does this perfectly match the inspiration photo, the color combo kind of has a Venus Flytrap-y vibe to it as well. Everything about this polish is so unique: the transition colors, the contrasting flakes and glitters, the super dense shimmers. This is an amazing one! The formula is perfect as well, applying beautifully smooth and easily.
These beauties will be available throughout the month of October only at HeathersHues.com!
