Heather's Hues Monthly Duo December 2020

Better late than never they say! Looks like USPS decided they loved this duo sooo much, they wanted to keep if for themselves for a little while. lol. Being a little late with my swatches seems like a perfect way to cap off the 2020 duos though, right? For this year's last Monthly Duo, the Hue-t-pies were tasked with submitting Wild Card photos! Meaning there was no specific theme, rather, the Hue-t-pies just submitted any photo they'd like to see transformed into polish. Turns out one of the photos I submitted was chosen this time around! The polishes created have perfectly captured the delicious inspirations: flowers glowing beautifully under various colored lights, and a nighttime winder wonderland illuminated by the northern lights.

In case you're new to the Monthly Duo, each month Heather tasks the members of her Facebook fan group, the Hue-t-pies, to submit photos fitting a theme of her choice. The photos are whittled down to 10, then the group votes for their favorite 2 photos to inspire Heather to create something new and special for that month. Join in on the fun for next month, and peep at the inspiration photos for these by joining us in the Facebook group here: www.facebook.com/groups/HeathersHueTpies

"Wild Flowers"

Price: $12.50

Description: This is a shimmer that shifts from pink to blue and is filled with iridescent flakes that shift from violet to pink to gold and blue to purple. This shimmer is sheer but buildable, and also can be used as a topper. Shown here in 3 coats, plus gloss and matte top coats. Also shown as a single coat over royal blue, black, and pink plus gloss top coat.

Thoughts: This was inspired by the photo I submitted! It is pure feminine iridescence with an old school polish feel, as it is naturally delicate and sheer. It applied easily, but there is still pretty prominent VNL at 3 coats, making it a great candidate for a nude or white undie base if you like more full coverage. I tested it as a single coat topper over a few colors, including royal blue, black, and pink. I was surprised by how similar the blue and black ended up looking, but I think the look over royal blue may just be my favorite. It has a sort of electric feel to it.

"Wild Nights"

Price: $12.50

Description: This is a black to colorless thermal packed with a strong green-turquoise-blue shimmer, a mix of multichrome and iridescent flakes in green-teal-blue-violet, and a kiss of holo flakes and sparkle. Shown here in 3 coats, plus gloss and matte top coats.

Thoughts: This polish is absolutely packed with shimmer! The first coat appeared to be very sheer, but coverage is built quickly with each additional coat thanks to the densely packed flakes and shimmers. It applies very smooth and easily, and dries quickly with very little texture. I love the look of this one when matte. It transitions very easily as well, needing very little help from my handy dandy space heater.

These beauties will be available throughout the month of December only at HeathersHues.com!
