Heather's Hues February 2021 Monthly Duo

February! Already! Time is absolutely flying by right now. For this month's duo, the Hue-t-pies were tasked with submitting photos fitting the theme of 'Opposites Attract!' The polishes created have perfectly captured their paradoxical inspirations: a colorful magnetic ferrofluid/watercolor work of art (oil & water), and a solemn fiery mermaid emerging from the ocean (fire & water). These beauties will be available throughout the month of February only at HeathersHues.com!

In case you're new to the Monthly Duo, each month Heather tasks the members of her Facebook fan group, the Hue-t-pies, to submit photos fitting a theme of her choice. The photos are whittled down to 10, then the group votes for their favorite 2 photos to inspire Heather to create something new and special for that month. Join in on the fun for next month, and peep at the inspiration photos for these by joining us in the Facebook group here: www.facebook.com/groups/HeathersHueTpies

"Millefiori"

Price: $12.50

Description: This is a ridiculously fun black to colorless thermal packed with a mix of matte, metallic, and holo glitters and iridescent flakes in a variety of blues, greens, violets, and pinks. Shown here in 3 thin coats, plus gloss and matte top coats.

Thoughts: This is truly like confetti in a bottle! It is super densely packed with a rainbow of glitters and flake. It applies easily, but I actually added a few drops of thinner after the first coat. This was more so to help slow the drying time while applying rather than to thin it out any. I didn't find it to become goopy or anything like that, but the dense add-ins did take me a few extra strokes of the brush to evenly apply over the full nail. It transitions very easily and smoothly, and looks great matte as well. The inspiration behind this polish is a super intriguing work of art from photographer Fabian Oefner. If you're interested, I would definitely recommend checking out this short article where he speaks on his Millefiori series of photographs.

"Set Fire to the Rain"

Price: $12.50

Description: This is a grayed denim crelly filled with a mix of red, orange, gold, and sapphire glitters, red to blue multichrome flakes, gold metallic flakes, and a kiss of holo sparkle. Shown here in 2 coats, plus gloss and matte top coats.

Thoughts: I'm loving the contrasting shimmer and glitter against the denim blue base of this one. The formula was the tiniest bit thick, but not an issue at all. In fact, this made for a very easily controlled application with near single coater opacity. This one also looks great with a matte top coat.

Again, these beauties will be available throughout the month of February only at HeathersHues.com! Come join the Hue-t-pies to help with inspiring next month's duo: www.facebook.com/groups/HeathersHueTpies
