Cupcake Polish's 70's Collection

*Products shown were provided as press samples in exchange for photos and feedback. All thoughts and opinions are my own.*

Cupcake Polish has created a gorgeous 70’s inspired collection for fall! These polishes were all inspired by the colors of the interior decorating, fashion, and aesthetics of the 70's. The collection includes a beautiful range of contrasting shimmers and shifty flakie finishes, all in unique and intriguing base colors. This is one of the few rare collections where I can truly say that each and every single polish included is absolutely stunning with both gloss and matte finishes.

All the polishes shown here will be sold individually and priced at $13 each.

These will be available Monday, October 19th, at 7:00pm CDT at www.cupcakepolish.com.

Cupcake Polishes are handmade, long-wearing, full coverage, and 5-free.

"Boogie Down"

Description: A cobalt blue jelly base nail polish filled with bronze/red multichrome flakies and gold/orange/green iridescent flakies and a subtle touch of scattered holographic pigment. Shown in 3 thin coats, plus gloss and matte top coats.

Thoughts: This polish applied very easily and smoothly, with the flakes laying down nice and flat. The flakes are super shifty, taking on a different look from every angle. The holo dusting gives it a beautiful sparkle as well.

"Can You Dig It?"

Description: A carrot orange crème based nail polish packed with pink to green shifting iridescent aurora shimmer. Shown in 3 thin coats, plus gloss and matte top coats.

Thoughts: The beautiful, contrasting shimmers in the bright orange base make this a perfect fall pumpkin polish! It applied very easily, with little to no brush strokes left in the shimmer. Coverage also built very nicely. Those with shorter nails or a less prominent nail line would probably only need two coats.

"Flower Power"

Description: A berry red jelly based nail polish packed with gold/red/green shifting aurora shimmer. Shown in 3 thin coats, plus gloss and matte top coats.

Thoughts: This polish is stunning! It is such a sultry, romantic shade and the shimmer are just so eye catching. I had a couple visible brush strokes, but they were easily straightened out and not an issue.

"Granny Square"

Description: A medium brown crème based nail polish packed with pink/silver/green shimmer. Shown in 3 thin coats, plus gloss and matte top coats.

Thoughts: From the bottles alone, this was personally my least favorite of the collection, but then I swatched it... and wow! Out of nowhere, this gorgeous warm toned tawny brown stole my heart and became my favorite! The shimmer is so dense, it has a frosted or even faux metallic finish. Also, brush strokes in the dense shimmer were no problem at all. This is another where those with shorter nails or a less prominent nail line would probably only need two coats.

"Groovy Baby"

Description: A pickle green nail polish filled with bronze/pink multichrome shimmer and gold/pink/green iridescent flakies. Shown in 3 thin coats, plus gloss and matte top coats.

Thoughts: The super shifty shimmers and flakes come together in this polish to make a beautiful and unique finish. Olive green toned bases tend to have a bad habit of staining my nails, so I did have a small bit of yellow-orange staining left behind from this one. If your nails stain easily from shades like this as well, I always recommend a very good quality base coat or two coats of base allowed to dry fully before applying your polish.

"Peace & Love"

Description: A sage green crème based nail polish filled with gold/pink/green iridescent flakies. Shown in 3 thin coats, plus gloss and matte top coats.

Thoughts: This is definitely another stand out from the collection. I absolutely love the earthy green tone. It's creme base is smooth and not too opaque, allowing the gorgeous shifty flakes to be displayed beautifully. I highly recommend trying this one matte as well. This is another where those with shorter nails or a less prominent nail line would probably only need two coats.
